Default Prop Question?????????

I have a pair of Mercury #6 Speedmaster 5 blades 16 3/4 x 34 pitch.
Can I "lab" them up to a higher pitch????

I'd like them to be 36's or 38's in pitch.....

If so where should I send them?

PROS??

CON??

Thanks,

Otto

I think you can change the pitch (35/36) but you can't add diameter.

From what I've heard some people had bad luck with re-pitching props. Maybe an expert like B-Blades with chime in.

Otto-
I agree that you can change pitch (to some degree), but not diameter. That would require welding and would most likely cause subsequent failure of the blade.
Did you post in the prop forum too?

I have 17.5 x 35", but they're 4 blades....want to trade?

Have a Happy Holiday!

You should post this in the Prop Talk forum to get advice from the experts. I know on Bravo props they can only change pitch one inch up or down.

Brett @ BBlades X Merc Racing Prop Guy 920-295-4435 is the only guy you want working on your Cleavers and he can give you another pitch up or down.
If your running the kind of power where you need 38p props you may want to do what we did and change the drive ratio on your #6s from 1.50 to1.35 or as in our case to 1.24 ratio and we now run 34p Cleavers to 6400 rpms.
Good Luck!
