Default Bass Tournament Contestant disqualified for reckless driving

Since we "Cigarette boat" types seem to always get bad PR,this shows it's not the type of boat,it's the driver. Sorry I am too computer challenged to post the link, but do a Google search for Gerald Swindle.Even has a video that got him disqualified from the tournament. I'm sure someone can post a direct link to the article and video.

I used to fish the VA state tournaments with my father as a teenager. Never saw someone do anything like that!
I will say these guys frequent areas that are 1-2 ft deep with stumps all over the entire flat. The only "deep" water would be an old 3-4 ft deep creek bed channel that zig-zags across the flat. IF and I say IF this was in one of those areas it he would have to pass through that old creek bed...however the traffic in the area does not make it safe to do so. The guys in the background looked to be fishing the stumps in one of those flats I described.

LOL. The one time I actually applauded a game warden for doing his job I was out with a boat full of family just a cruising down a huge main span of the lake and here come a bass boat going about 70. I had the right away and I new he saw me, but he never let up. I had to back down or else he would have hit me. Soon as he passed a game warden came from out of no where (funny how that happens) and pulled him over for reckless driving.

A lot of these guys are freakin crazy and reckless. But, if it weren't for some of the bass boaters we would probobly have a lot more speed lmiits.

Looked to me like that stunt called for more than a simple disqualifacation. Not surprised by his driving though, I avoid Don Pedro when those jackazzs have a tournament.

I saw that clip on ESPN2 just a while ago. I agree that there should be more penalty than just the DQ for the day. Maybe he should be DQ'ed for the rest of the season. Can you imagine how much stink would have been raised if that had of been a performance boat busting through like that. My .02 worth....

now just curious Robert, is this on one of the lakes that has a "big boat ban" can you use this in your favor to show it's not the size of the boat its the operator?

It was one of the original 11 lakes the power co. wanted included before it was whittled down to 3. But you can bet our attorney will be aware of the incident.
