Torsion axles all the way, especially if used in salt. Torsion axles damn near forever and no matter what you do leaf springs never last in salt water.

Torsion springs tend to work where as leaf rely on each other to work. As you go over a bump, the torsion system will go over it smoothly verses the leaf that transfer the weight to the other spring next to it. Also in a braking situation, all the brakes will work the same verses the leaf spring system tends to roll or lift the other axles.

Torsion axles aren't without their own issues. They can be loud- squeking constantly with no way to make them stop. If you have roadside issues, you're in deep. With leaf springs, they can be fixed with readily available parts in most cities. If you snap a spring, it can be bunked up and nursed off the road.
