I'm in the process of getting motors for my 33' sonic and just wondered what speeds you guys get out of your power.

I was getting 77-78mph gps on fresh water with 650HP a side on a 1990 38' Sonic with all the options (AC, GENSET, Frig, TV ect). Running 1.50:1 Bravo 1s with 28 pitch Bravo 4 blades at 5200rpm. 3 peaple 1/2 gas 9500lbs, I hope that helps.

Any ideas what I could expect with about 450hp. I believe the boat weighs about 7500lbs?

The staggered motors help quite a bit. On a Sonic I would say 68-70mph. You are better off posting this in the sonic owners section. They could give a better idea of what ot expect. Sonic hulls are not the fastest out there but they do ride really nice IMO.

Our 2001 358 (this was an old lay-up type hull)with 500efi's ran 79-81 mph. 470hp Bravo xr's with 28' pitch bravo 4 blades. Our boat weighed approx. 8700 lbs.

Thanks guys, I was shooting for about 70-75. Doesn't seem like that should be to hard to do.

NJ, I'm guessing thats your boat in the picture. NICE! I like the paint.
