If you're sportin' a 598 i'm assuming you've already done all the little things.

Not to overstate the obvious, but if this is the sport/hobby you chose to get into, "super cheap" shouldn't be in your vocabulary!! Jus sayin...

Most of the speed is in the setup. What prop? What drive? What prop depth to sponson?

Is that motor aluminum headed? Good intake?

I think you can almost always find speed/performance by playing with the prop.

Yeah but a new Hering peobably wouldn't fall under the category of "cheap" Having said that, you probably couldn't find 3mph or so for less $$. Plus, it won't increase your fuel consumption

Here's a thought- have you blocked & wetsanded your bottom?

The cheapest way to make a boat go faster that I found was to loose weight!

Very true, but you have to remove any significant weight proportionally. Altering your boat's center of gravity too much can cause odd handling issues.

Yeah --just push that fat chick off the back of the boat and you will go a lot faster. Doesn't cost a thing.

Not having her fat bottom in the boat may adversely affect your center of gravity, but at least you won't have any awkward explaining to do to your friends...
