27 Speedster Hull Stringer Layout question
#1
The seat bolts pulled out of the floorboard on a really hard hit we took last saturday. Does anyone know what is under the floorboard in this area? My plan is to cut a hole under the seat. The hole would be about 6 inch diameter and allow me access to put bolts with large washers to secure the seat. I would cover the hole with one of these screw in port hatches.
I could do one in the middle and reach both seats from there, but it is better looing to not have it in the middle of the floor.

I have a completely gutted 27 Speedster project. I already removed the floor & the fuel tank. If you can wait until Thursday, I will take some photos of the cockpit without the floor. It just might help you some.

Thanks for the help guy's I think I'll make the cuts friday, so thursday would be great. I was pretty sure the fuel tank was only under the rear seat. I'm actually seriously thinking of buying the boat back from my stepdad since I do a lot of the work on it anyways. but right now I just boat with no boat ownership, the best of both worlds.

Please wait til I send pics......the fuel tank runs down the center of the cockpit from the dash to part way under the rear seat. It fits between the stringers & is only about an inch under the floor. Drilling thru the floor could be dangerous & costly if you break thru into the fuel tank. I'll send pics late Thursday evening. I'll post them here & also in a PM to you directly.

I'll have some questions for you next week, we are going out today to test the new GPS Speedometer, I was up in the boat on the trailer at 45 MPH yesterday and it matches up with the truck speedo, but the trailer is a really rough ride. So we'll test higher speeds on the water. pictures to come soon.
