Default How Much to Pay for Trailer?

I am considering purchasing a trailer for my 2001 Fountain single step. What should I pay for a new or used trailer? Only will be used to move boat a couple of times a year. Does it make any difference what brand?

I got tired of looking for a used one and bought a new one from HI-TECH marine. There is some good feedback on them on here and truthfully I am quite happy with my trailer. No, it isn't a MYCO or Manning, but Manning never returned my phone call, and I could buy 2 of my trailers for the cost of a MYCO, and in my position I couldn't justify that.

I was shopping for an aluminum one and from what I could tell the price wasn't all that different from a nice used one to a brand new one so I just said the hell with it - at least I knew it would be bunked correctly. That was the other thing, I didn't want to buy a trailer then have to rely on someone to re-bunk it, hope it fit right, etc.....

Shogren (chicago fountain) usually has some decent used trailers at good prices. It would be a shame to buy a new one for a couple times a year.

I'll give Shogren's a call. I just didn't know what to expect to pay. I had a Myco with another boat when I trailered a lot - great trailer, but don't need to pay that much.

I purchased a basic aluminum trailer for my 10 Meter. I had a good experience with South Florida Trailers. I believe I paid around $4K delivered. That was about 5 years ago. I looked everywhere for a used one, but could not find one. By the way, you can use mine during the season if you need it. It's locked up at Gene's.
