Judging by the speed you were pulling the boat on the way to Destin you need a serious horsepower increase.

I had a 2001 Freightliner Sport Chassis with a Cat 3126 and the previous owner installed an Edge tuner and that truck hauled A$$!!! Just make sure you watch your EGT,,,

A tuner on this motor is a bad idea.

Depending on what HP you're already at, Cat can do a number of uprates on HP. Some take a reflash, some take injectors and a turbo, some take pistons and a new balancer- all depends on where you're starting from. You can bump the motor up to marine horsepower ratings (425/990tq) but you're going to get marine lifespan out of it. At 325, it's 500,000 hour motor. At 425 it's a 3000 hour motor. And a reman short block is about $20K installed.

Like boats, how fast do you want to spend?

50k miles with the tuner,,no problems at all with low EGT's, just dont set it on KILL,,or like Chris said have it re-flashed at a Cat dealer,,330hp is about max that a dealer can do, I'm on my 6th Freightshaker and there decent rigs for the money
