Default More hp out of a 500hp

I have a 500hp carbed, i just had the whole thing pulled apart its been honed and cleaned and i bought the 741 cam to put back with new lifters.

I was wondering what would need to be done to 650 to 750 hp out of the motor if i can i see 650 with out blower i would go that route if i have to add blower want 700 to 750.

Also with the blower which is the best candidate for the price and the best one for the motor!blower shop pro charger Whipple what? I am not sure what would be the best route to go. Thanks for looking jeramy

You'll have to make it a 540 and increase compression a little to get around 650hp.

I am really looking for the best possible route to go. So sounds like blower would be best. I just had the block honed it didn't need bored so i want to run it all season and make it a 540 next season. Is Whipple the best way to go if use the blower?

Running pro charges on 500hp carb motors that work well. I'm building a pair of engines now and want to run whipples on them , just having a hard time selling the whipples to the wife at 14k each !!!!! Good luck

OK after thinking about what to do i do not want a blower . So with that said what would be the best route to get the most hp out of the motor. I have the 741 cam and new lifters already. So if someone could steer me in the right direction that would be great budget 5000 to 6000. I was thinking to start a set brodix heads and msd ignition.

If you have 6K for both engines, make 540's and go with the rest next season.

I only have a single motor. The reason i didn't go with the 540 was the when the motor was apart they said it didn't need bored so i figured save the life of block and bore it next time around. If i did the 540 idea i would also have to tear the motor apart again and buy all new gaskets so that really is not a option at this point.

Also as far as heads go what would be the best choice. I also was wondering if i bought the heads for the 500 now when i went to the 540 the heads wouldn't big enough?

Where is the best place to get the 540 upgrade kit or do they even sell one?
