2001 27' Formula 271 Fastech with a Volvo DPX 500. What type of performance would you expect out of this set up? I've always been under the impression the duroprops weren't much good over 50-55 mph.

Here is a link to the boat: http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2001.../United-States

I am not much on Formula.. I do know that a 1999 33AVS w/twins600-Scarab ran 99mph right out of the box.. and stable.. I have been on one....
Is this a single engine what is the HP?

I really don't know much about the Volvos, not sure if it is 500ci, or 500hp.

271 Fastecs are single engine.

The Volvo 500 is a 502ci 500hp very similar to the merc 500EFI.

That being said, if resale is an issue, anything non-Merc can always be a problem.

Also, the 600DPX driven Scarab 33 AVS did not run 99 out of the box. It ran around 93 in factory stock condition which was still very fast for a factory boat at that time.
