Default Batteries and electical question.

Can anyone tell me which battery powers the cabin electronics and which battery is 1 and 2 on the switches. Should I have two deep cycles or should one of them be just a starting battery.

Batt 1 is the starting battery and 2 is the House (but in Fountain land that can change) but 9 out of 10 are set up that way

Yes, can someone explain this in detail? It does not explain itself....

My impression is that each switch supply power to the corresponding engine.
(with 2 switches, 2 engines, 2 batteries)

Starb. switch gives power to Cabin power panel

Port switch gives power to tabs, trim.

If I remember right, this is how my boat is set up.

Correct me if I am wrong!! I get a bit confused some times when switching on.

A good rule is to let one engine run on battery 1, and the other on batteri 2. When stationary, and with the stereo, interior lights etc. on for a long time, the other battery can start the both engines when switched to the 1+2 position. Am I right here?

P switch to #2= P battery to the P motor,
S switch to #1= S battery to the S motor.
Easy way to remember, each switch points to the side of the boat that it is on. LLL, RRR (switch, battery, motor)

With both switches set to either 1 or 2, both motors will be starting off/charging the same battery. Not best to run them set to same position. And don't run both iswitches in the BOTH position.

Yes.

Pos 1 is for the S battery
Pos 2 is for the P battery

This applies to both switches.
