It was probably the one of the most widely used cams for upgrading the 500HP. 236/244, .610/.632, 112 lobe sep. If you want to reduce the reversion possibilities and get a smoother idle, have one ground a 114 lobe sep. That would be the same as the 525EFI cam

Ihade lots of problems with my gils stock 500 HP"s I let them idle too long in a no wake zone /got fuel /restarted let IDLE till i till got out/let the sticks fly at 3500 blue a pistion /
now I am going with CMI"S There is a reason mercruser stoped useing GIL'S in 2000
ps I hade tall pipes

But which Gil risers did you have????? and are you sure this was a reversion issue????
