Default Cams With Gill Exhaust

Anyone Running Bigger Than Stock 500hp Cams With The Stock Gill Exhaust System. If So How Big And Any Reversion Problems.

You have the taller, updated risers so I think you could go with something in the range of a Crane 741 without any issues.

Griff what is the specs on the 741 cam, and is it a proven hp upgrade.

It was probably the one of the most widely used cams for upgrading the 500HP. 236/244, .610/.632, 112 lobe sep. If you want to reduce the reversion possibilities and get a smoother idle, have one ground a 114 lobe sep. That would be the same as the 525EFI cam

silent choice, 741 cam. Low risors, non problems

Ihade lots of problems with my gils stock 500 HP"s I let them idle too long in a no wake zone /got fuel /restarted let IDLE till i till got out/let the sticks fly at 3500 blue a pistion /now I am going with CMI"S There is a reason mercruser stoped useing GIL'S in 2000 ps I hade tall pipes

What cmi are you going with.

But which Gil risers did you have????? and are you sure this was a reversion issue????
