Just wondering if anyone else here is running a 09 2500 or 3500 with the 6.0. If so any idea how rough your fuel milage is.. ??? Mine seems to tow really nice & have good power (eventhough it doesnt have the torque that my Duramax did), but seems a little rough on fuel yet. I only have a little over 1k on it so far.. Just curious as to what others seem to be getting.. J

It takes about 3000 miles for these engines to break in fully. Your mileage will depend upon how you drive and rear axle ratio. I have a 2004-2500 Avalanche with the 8.1 motor- and get 12 around town and 9 towing. I have a 4.11 axle and have installed the Hypertech program for regular fuel. It gave me about .5 mpg and more power.

I get 11-12, but just got over the 3K miles mark and it does make an improvement there once its broken in I believe.
I have a lift and bigger tires though, which definitely hurts the milage.
Basically, the 6.0 is gonna use some gas in these big trucks, but overall it performs fairly well, and saves you a ton up front vs the d-max which will buy you a lot of gas.

Thanks for the respomses guys.. So far I am happy overall (actually quite happy).. I didnt obviously buy it for fuel economy.. Im getting about 13 or so with a little over 1K on it so far & some of it towing.. I also like the new changes they have made since my 05 3/4 ton Duramax.. I think it rides & shifts better.. I do miss the little bit of extra torque but its a fair trade off for saving .60 to a buck a gallon at the pump up here.. lol..
