Default What sizes to K-planes come in ?

I'm looking for just the tab only and have seen some for sale but don't know exactly what they are. For instance I've seen 280s, 600s , and 380s I though the numbers where how long they are but the 600s number kind of thru me.

I need a set of k-planes only that are in the 12-19" range. If anybody knows of a set let me know.

26scarab,
I just went thru this. I believe the numbers (280, 380, ext.) refers to a ballpark calculation, representing the amount of square inches on the surface area of the trim tab. I too wanted just the tab but couldn’t find ANYone who could help me. after about 20 calls I found someone at mercury marine in the racing department (920-921-5330) who seemed to have the answers, but acted like I was wasting his time. anyway, I wanted to go from 11” long to 19” long, but don’t have a lot of room due to my twins (the tabs would hit the drives if they stuck straight back). so merc. said “you need the 280S, the 280 is the 19.25” and the “S” means the tab is angled away from the center of the boat to allow room for the drives”, he even gave me part numbers (port side = 847087A1 and starboard side = 847086A1). that’s what i ordered. i haven’t received them yet, so i can’t be an eyewitness, i just wanted to let you know what i have found so far.
good luck !!

26scarab,

I just put a set of 280Ss on my 260 Sonic. So, they should be just about the right size for your Scarab.

280s are 19.25 long X 9 wide
300s are 19.25 long X 14 wide
380s are 30 long by 7 wide

they also make a 150s which is 11.6 long by 11.5 wide.

I know Teague carries them. I got mine on the OSO.

hope this helps.
