I like to know if anybody is running the IMCO SCX with 900h/p plus or close to it?
if so any problems or failures? plus how long they have been on boat as in hours?
twins or single drive? and the size of your boat? for any information, i would be thankful...

I have a friend, with 36 Apache 825hp.. 150hrs no problems.. missed the old days of working on XR's. He runs it hard also.. Says he never sees over 160* temps.. His XR's would go to 270* and would have to stop and cool them off..

I'm installing them right now on a 36 Baja with 825HP per side based on the positive feedback I have received. I thought I heard they were good up to 900 HP but not over. Mr. Gadgets is the man he did me right on my setup.

Quinlan,
Gaffrig/Livorsi used to offer a temp gauge, but not at present.
I have an external cooling/filter system that a gauge can be added to, but that is a expensive system.
Indy.. Dock and I were speaking of the SCX drives from Imco.. Not a temp gauge.. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I just got my new SCX upper from MrGadgets. I will be mating it to an SC lower. I dont run crazy power, in the 750 hp range ( not sure, didnt get to the dyno yet ), in a 25 Checkmate. I am hoping and expecting good things from it.

I am runnin scx uppers with -2 sc lowers on a 28 daytona with 1100hp to each drive and have had no problems at all, I'm sure that eventually the lowers will have to be rebuilt but I do keep an extra lower in the boat in case I have a failure but so far so good with about 60 hours of time on the drives. I used to run the standard sc uppers but kept blowing the uppers and have had no issues whatsoever with the scx uppers. In my opinion they are a great product and for the price difference between the sc and scx upper your much better off going with the scx.
