Mike, what did you have in it before and what speed were you getting? Years ago I had a Regal Velocity 23. With a 454 Mag I could do low 70s. With a Velocity 22 being lighter and less bow heavy I would expect at least low 80s and quite possibly better. You might want to talk to Scott at the factory about prop selection.

Padraid,
My boat is 1996 220 velocity.
I am currently running a 454/330hp with a 26 pitch spineli 3 blade prop turning 4800 rpm.
I am getting a solid 73+ mph on radar.
With the new motor, I am thinking of a bravo 4 blade or a mirage??
Also trying to decide what type of headers to install??
Any suggestions?
Mike

Sounds like a sweet boat and the 500 should really wake it up!
I would guess that a Mirage would give you more bow lift then you need but maybe not. I used a Mirage on my 23 but the Regal had more weight and needed the bow lift. Check with the factory, I bet they are aware of other 22s with 500HPs.
I have hasd good luck with Lightning Headers but I have not had a chance to compare with other brands. The Keith Eckerds are interesting and if I was doing it again I would look very seriously at them even though ther are a tad pricey.
Let us know how it turns out and what the results are.
