I have what looks like a single piece of 3/4" plywood for a stringer that holds the starboard side of the starboard motor (BBC) that cracked...
Is this normal for formula? 3/4 plywood to hold that much weight?
How do I replace that piece and achieve more strength... I don't want to run screws thru the hull/ transom?
I pulled the starboard motor tonite and am scratching my head at this point...

I cant post pics...
the Stringer is not rotten, just cracked behind the motor mount...
It seems like a poor design, it sticks up 6" above the shelf that goes to the hull side and gives it the strength...
the motor mount is attatched in this 6" area near the top of the board.
