Default Anyone using Cheap Ebay HEI distrubutors

I'm curious if anyone is using the cheap $40 HEI distributors that are on ebay? I'm sick and tried of trying to track down the issues I'm having with my thunderbolt ignition!

I know of about 10 of them being used right now. The 65,000 volt. Make sure you drill a hole in the bottom to let heavy vapors out and put some steel screen material to cover the hole. Marinize them.

What troubles are you having with the TB's?

i'm no expert on the law because they don't have any down here but doesn't the CG require some sort of mystical certification on that stuff and you get your dick stomped if they inspect and it isn't right ?

I wouldnt put a $40 main ignition component on ANYTHING I own...let alone something that could leave me stranded, possibly in bad weather, possibly with others on board, and with no way to walk back !!!!

to be honest about that you would have to acknowledge that that dist probably has exactly the same chinese amp in it that the expensive ones do... just without the brand name. the chinese supply the vast majority of all those sub assemblies these days to every major manufacturer

Getrdunn and I thought Rookie was running them without issues.. However I found the mysterious issue I was having. After three people including me pulled our hair out trying to figure out why I was not getting any spark. I completely disconnected the tether switches from the ignition and the engines instantly fired up and ran great! So no need to change anything now!
