Default HP500 procharger..how much boost ?

current setup, stock HP500 +.030, & lightning headers, procharger M3SC, prosystems custom blow thru carb, MSD digital 7 box w/timing retard and alcohol/water injection, remote intercooler...how much boost would you consider safe to run on 93 octane ? right now making 4psi @ 5200, thanks Rob

What's your static compression, 8.5-8.75ish? 7 lbs is no problem with just the intercooler, with the Meth 10-12 would still be safe. They like a fair bit of timing even with decent boost, don't go too conservative with your boost retard.

I would say right around there....stock replacement J&E forged psitons, no head work and std .039 felpro marine gaskets..at the current 4 psi @ 5200 not using injection or timing retard. has a 5" blower pulley now...procharger says a 4.25 pulley will add 3-3.5 psi or a 4.13 4-4.5...so just trying to figure what works...

You should be able to run at least 7 lbs of boost, 30 degrees of timing & 93 octane. Make sure you have carb adjusted rich enough. What size intercooler are you running?

Procharger techs don't know $hit...........I run a 4.25 pulley, 454Mag (slightly worked) with the M1SC and I get 5+psi and I run 89 fuel....fair enough, MPI as opposed to N/A but, touch wood, I have had zero problems after some help from a couple of site members who know Procharger set ups inside out.....

As pointed out, keep your timing conservative and even 91 octane would be fine to run IMO.......

+2 with 7 lbs boost, 30 degree timing, I'm running M-3 with 3.70" PC Pulley creating 7 lbs boost on 540 - no issues knock on wood.
