Will 496 manifolds fit a gen 4 454 big block .Never paid much attention to the 496 heads. JOHN SR

Yes they will fit. You will have to make some adjustments on some possible mounting brackets for remote oil filter and electrical relays and then check your riser heights as 496 risers come in different heights, 8" and 10". Many have made this conversion with great results. Stay away from the early 496 risers with lower seperate water rails as those did not last well and had some problems. The Later 2003 thru 2009 work well.
There are probably some OSO readers who will let you know exactly what they did and what years and model 454 setups they used them on.

i have risers $40 plus the ride each

i put them on my 454 remounted the oil filter and shifter bracket to the transom motor looks great

This is the style you are looking for. I also made a bracket out of a couple pieces of aluminum "L" so the oil filter went back to it's original position.



This is my Mark IV 454 , stroked and rollered to a 496. With Merc 496 exhaust.

I think you have to drill the mounting holes in the 496 manifolds as they are metric and a few thousands smaller than the bolts used on the 454s.

mine went right on no drilling had to get new bolts though
