Default Are BBC one peice oil pan gaskets better?

I ordered a one peice oil pan gasket that is a silicone material from CP performance for my 454 BBC. Are these gaskets better than the 2 piece? It seemed to me that they would be but after googling I have myself second guessing.

I have used the Fel pro 1 pc gaskets and find that they work very well.

Ive used them also. I put some Right stuff RTV sealant in the 4 corners for insurance. Much nicer to use than the 4 piece stuff imo.

I used the felpro 1pc. on my 502 this past winter. What I especially liked about it was the crush limiting sleeves in bolt holes to prevent over tightening the gasket. My block is a gen 6. The only problem I ran into was that other than the corners, I didn't use any silicon on the bottom of the trimming chain cover section of the gasket (its a lot thinner than the gen 4) and it rolled to the inside of the pan when I tightened it up....installer error on my part. I didn't catch it until I fired the motor up and saw it leaking oil into my nice clean bilge. It wasn't a fun fix!

start in the middle and work your way out, they have a crush sleeve so you wont over tighten.

1+

Did the same thing on my Fel-Pro 1piece for my GenIV engine, two seasons and no leaks.
