Default Original Spectre Molds Repossessed From Arrow/Frisini

Here's the latest on the original tooling for the Spectre catamarans owned by Gary Smith, which were repossessed yesterday from Arrow Powerboats in Fort Pierce, Fla., under Florida judgment...

Actually makes sense now. Why would Frisini continue to pay for Spectre molds that you can't use the Spectre name. The question is,who has the rights to the name? Doesn't sound like Gary has them either. If Jay has the name, and Gary has the molds, the molds are useless to anyone but Jay. I think the assumptions should stop, until more information is out there.

Seemed fairly clear until I read the final paragraph. Is the Spectre name included or not??? Mentioning "reviving the Spectre brand" confuses the issues. Seems to me the buyer would get tooling only, not the brand. Similar to Powerquest...the deal suggested the PQ name was included when indeed it was not.

If I remember right, back in 2006 when the original sale was done the Spectre Catamaran name (or similar) went with the sale of the molds but Jay was going to retain the Spectre CC name/business. Wasnt real clear and definately created two very similarly named companies. Conrad got the deal done before I could but always wonder how that worked out. Guess it never was....

I bet the molds end up back with jay, either leased from Gary or purchased outright.

Oh and if anyone else is wondering the Adrenaline 30 molds aren't for sale - I tried

According to Frisini boats it will be rolled into the Hypersonic lineup and more effort placed on building that brand. The whole leasing agreement/brand dispute explains a lot on why the Spectre brand was never really built up.

Maybe I'm not looking close enough. But in the last paragraph Gary talks about anyone reviving the Specte name and all Property and rights to the company being available. Wouldn't that include the name.

sounds that way to me too. I guess the spectre name wasn't part of the Florida deal though.

I'm wondering if "new tooling" is lawyer speak for splashed hull.
