hydraulics are actually fairly simple.. I was in awe when somebody posted steering cylinders are over 1500. You can coilover shocks custom made with adjustable compression, rebound and multi stage valving for less.

I understand what your saying but the custom stainless barrels, clevises, shafts and mounts is probably where the expense comes from. To make new stainless rods the my hydraulic shop quoted $400. The threaded part is a little bent on my rams.

I need to do the same thing. Just need to find a hydraulics shop.
