why do American people limit themselves??
this is very funny...
I have just read the rules for poker runs....alcohol-speeding-sitting on the seats are not alowed.....so why are you driving your boats?? stay in your office it is more fun...
it is always like this
you build corvette but you have 55 or 60 mph speed limit????? If you cant drive it why do you buy it?
you have hot-rods but you cant drive it ...pollution staff???
you have marlboro but smoking is forbidden in most places .....
isnt it a big confusion?

At the speeds today's poker runs are at, sitting on the hatches and drinking are just NOT good ideas. You HAVE to agree with that, don't you? Safety of all aboard has to rate number one, even before the "fun" factor.
I don't even let people sit on my hatch at "cruising" speeds.

Not misunderstood at all. I agree with the rest of your post. I drive fast, and have taken the cat. converters off of several vehicles. But I don't smoke, so I don't get that one

timucin- America is full of contradictions due to the mix of people that make it up.
We can come up with things like offshore powerboats but then we also have too many damn lawyers that will sue if one of those boats crashes.
We have XXXXX rated everything and we have far right wing religious groups.
We have a group of people that say "leave me alone and let me make my fortune" and a group of people that say"we're from the government and we want to help".
Up until recently the country worked because when you got here(from wherever) after a generation no one could tell where you came from. Now we have all sorts of people that want to maintain their ethnic identity and become some type of "hyphen-American" instead of just an American.
It is hard to say where this little experiment goes next-I just wish they would stop trying to take away my TOYS!!!
