Default Map sensor 502 Mag MPI

Anybody ever replace one with an automotive one ? Merc wants $ 165.00 where as one from Napa is like $ 45.00 I think it is a 1 bar ??? Just guessing.

Buy a 1 bar replacement for 88 to 95 chevy 1/2 ton tbi 5.7 at autoparts store

It is wise to check with a scan tool your MAP readings after changing from one to another brand maker. MAP sensors all are not created equal and the same goes for IAC's - when buying from different manus but still is the same part. I have tested this with the scan tool as well and the readings can be different. Sensors come into play alot when it comes to air & fuel delivery, throttle response and idle quality .

MAP sensors 2 bar for SC engines for low to mild boost

1 bar for NA engines

I believe there is some way to tune or calibrate the new sensor(s) ?. I just can't think of it off the top of my head.
