Default Cleaning bilge anything else???

I currently have the motor out of my 77 scarab. I had a little mold and grime down in the bottom that I have since removed and cleaned. Solid stringers and transom, is there anything else I need to do while Im down there to prevent damage etc. I was going to reseal the drain holes and maybe put a fresh coat of paint on it, but other than that im ignorant on what else it may need. Thanks

Think about ANYTHING you can't get to after the engines are back in....if it's even the least bit suspect...replace it !!

I would install an electric oil change pump. It will make your services much easier and faster.

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely look into that oil change system, I'm thinking about painting the bottom white as opposed to the old grey, any input on types of paint that are better than others

I not famular with an oil change pump but I've used the hose system that attaches to the oil pan and can be thread thru the drain plug. In fact the hose has the drain plug attached. Draining oil after the engine is wam take a few minutes with no mess.

While I'm sure a pump works great. Gravity won't breakdown

I'd take a hard look at the thru hulls for your raw water pick ups while their easy to get to.
