Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has successfully used an alternative circulating pump on the 525 EFI motor? The factory part number is 811573A04 available for around $400. There are several pumps available that cross-over to the 811573 pump, but those were primarily used on the earlier non-closed cooled motors. Thanx!

I will check later for you guys I possible have them in stock for 195 each shipped to your door. I have all my water circ pumps made here in the USA. For all Marine engines including the LS and a few Ford marine versions as well.. Mercruiser last year started using the exact place as to where I get my pumps made. These are all marine rated water circ pumps. I have to check and see what I have left currently. THANKS

Yeah I'm going to try the 811573 for 1 of my HP500 EFI's instead of the 811573A04... Port engine is intermittently weeping a little water out the shaft, just running on the hose..

I went with this pump:
Mercruiser Water Pump→circulating water pump→GM Big Block V8 (ebasicpower.com)

Well, I got my Recir pump from Basic Power and got installed and it works like a Merc Racing $400.00+ Recir pump!
I was a little concerned when I laid them side by side, and on the Basic Power pump, the inlet snout was a little longer, (Red arrow points to Merc pump), but it installed, no problems... $109 vs $403......
