A 2000 288 would not be a stepped hull boat. It will, however, have ventilated chines which resemble a single step.

Yeah I know it's not a a real step. Nevermind this boat has 2 when it's supposed to have only 1 !!!
I have 3 pictures of it but can't upload them before 10 posts count.

didnt Sunsation build some kinda funky bottom in 2000 that they only built two of? i remember seeing one at, i think, Viscous Powerboats. It was a way out of the box kinda thing that was pretty ill handling but i couldn't help but respect the effort and thinking.

Maybe it's one of them. The top deck has also different vents on the side.
The front portion of the top deck has 2 windows instead of 1 on a standard 288.

Can someone post the pictures for me?

The first Innovator hull was built in the early '00's and that may have been what you saw. It had a rounded keel and one really big step if memory serves. Wayne ran it at one of the owner's rallies even though it was a boat financed by a customer (Frank was his name). Wayne wouldn't let Frank drive it because it handled so badly. Frank never got that boat and instead they went with a twin step design for the Innovator that ultimately became the S/SS/SSR 32 hull. I think the second attempt was a Michael Peters design.

that sounds like something i had heard, yes it had a big step that had a french curve look to it. It was different but like i said ya gotta respect the honest effort to do something new and un tried.
