Default What 36 cigarette do I have? Help please.

I bought this boat almost 3 years ago and after what started as tweaking a really nice boat turned into a full refit. It is now stripped down to the original gel dark gray or black with an orange boot stripe. The boat is a '72 36 widebody side by side.
Here are two pictures one is down to the gel the other is a couple coats of paint before.

Down to original gel .

Hard to believe you've owned a Cig for that long and still don't know what it is??
Looks like a cool old boat, nice project. I'm sure someone will shed some light.

If this gray Cig was from Michigan it belonged to a friend of mine here on Lake St Clair back in the 80's..

Last I remember you were refitting the cabin and helm, are you now done and moving onto the hull sides?

It will be basically new when done. I never really tried to figure it out as it is a side by side boat not staggered. But we do think it was raced at one time as we could see that the deck was cut with gauges on both sides and a throttle station on the starboard at some point in its life.

----Sure looks like a wide body to me. The full length character line in the hull about 6/7 inches down from the rubrail is the giveaway. It will also have a beam dimension of around 9 feet, hence the wide body term!. One of the most iconic heavy water Cigarettes ever built and coveted by a bunch of us! I own a version of it and it will pretty much handle any water ......Bill S

Bill I believe he know it's a wide body, he looking for origins of ownership and it's use thru the years.........the refit has been (is) documented in the Cigarette section.
