Hey y’all. Feeling a bit overwhelmed and could use some input. Critical fails to avoid particularly related to hull shape with cap off and stringers out. I have it sitting on the trailer right now. I’m worried about glassing in stringers and then not being able to get the cap back on. How should I position the boat while I’m working on it through the clean up/prep/glass/recap phases? Also a bit overwhelm by what fiberglass materials and suppliers to use.

Is the deck already off and stringers/bulkheads already cut out ?
Read thru this restoration thread, there is some good advice on exactly what your asking
Dont be overwhelmed, this particular boat is twice the size of your project.

There are 100's of threads on the subject, just google :
what kind of glass, offshoreonly
glassing in stringers, offshoreonly
Supporting the hull, offshoreonly
Etc etc etc, offshoreonly
Ill throw something in maybe a little overkill,
when you block the boat up to support it, 1. make it level side to side, and 2 if the transom is 12 degrees for example,
Level the boat front to back so the angle finder reads 12 degrees on the transom.
This way your level will read level and plumb on your stringers and bulkheads in all directions when you are fitting them prior to glassing in place
As you get into this project other members will guide you along when/where you get stuck or need input.
First tho, expect to do a lot of reading and note taking in the fiberglass section and get your post count up to 10 so you can post a lot of pictures.
