Perko and Charging 1988 F311 batteries

2) Will it work to just get an adapter plug/extension cord from Home Depot and just plug the NEMA L5-30 it into the garage 120V circuit to keep the batteries topped off?
or
3) Do you guys use normal trickle charges/battery tenders for purpose #2 above?
4) Is there supposed to be an "Owners Manual" with all these kinds of answers in it?

1. Yep (if it’s wired correctly).
2. You can pick up an adapter for the cord from West Marine or Amazon. This one is from West Marine... I’m sure you can find it cheaper:

3. I use the adapter above and keep my shore power plugged into the house electricity. No need for a trickle charger as the onboard charger does that for you. You more than likely have a newer charger.... I know mine was replaced at some point and they do not last forever. It should be fairly smart.
4. My 311 (and my old 242) came with all this information in a binder provided by Formula. You may have it in the boat somewhere. But do ask questions any time you want! This place can teach you a lot!

Thanks! I live "in town" (Madison, North Carolina is just like fictional Mayberry) with no additional space for the boat...so I have leased space which is 2/3 below grade (significantly cooler), well lit, and has is dehumidified.
Now I am ticking of the little "to dos" the boat needs. Therefore, stand-by for more questions! :-)

I wish my biggest concerns after buying my boat were chargers and anchors. You have obviously made a good purchase. Sharp looking boat. This Formula group is a great bunch, but beware of the 242 guys, none of em are playing with a full deck.Happy boating.

The trailer worked with a new RAM truck and I'm getting voltage to the Hydrastar but so far no luck (I am talking with Hydrastar as we speak).
