My boat lift installer is looking for a point-of-reference for the main lifting point (center of gravity?) to set the cradles for my 1988 Formula 311 SR-1 with twin big blocks and Bravo drives. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Tom
Ps-he's estimating about 3' forward of the transom (not including swim platform).

Look at it's position on the trailer if you have one. On a triple axle is should be somewhere near the center wheel centerline, maybe slightly to the rear of the C/L. Three feet forward of the transom seems a little too short.

You are right, I miss interpreted. The center of the ~10' cradles will be near the center axle of the trailer. So rear lift support of the cradle ends up about 3-4 feet from transom.

Like your trailer, the lift bunks should be extended to the transom so the bottom does not develop a hook due to the weight of the engines putting pressure on the unsupported ttransom. Hopefully a boat lift expert will weigh in.
