Default Need a set of 502 heads

Hey guys, doing a rebuild of my gen 5 502 .060 over looking to make 500 hp w/ maybe a hp 500 cam. My builder said my 3 yer old EQ heads need work and were not worth doing and I should buy new heads. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Are aluminum heads out of the question, I run salt water occasionally but always flush, boat does not sit in salt overnight.

Still looking for a set of heads for my build, 509 long rod gen 5. Also looking for a cam and springs to go with it. Any recommendations or sales would be appreciated

How can your 3 year old EQ's be that bad?? Even new heads need to be gone through to check tolerances.

Default eq heads

I do not know but I saw them and the seats where shot and valves slopping around in the guides. I thought the castings where still good but the shop said the material was too thin to cut in new seats and would not recommend using them. I am relying on his word. but I would not let him keep them for sure.

I found a good deal on new inconel ex valves. My question is what is the diff between the stock length and stems that are .100 longer. My build is a 509 long rodroller cam w/ about 600/620 lift, 1.7 rockers, which do I need? Also will stock gen 5 pushrods handle that lift w/ 140 seat pressure.
