Feast your eyes on this....I lined up a deal on it today, headed down to pick it up at the end of next month. 1985 with a couple loopers on it. Needs some love but I’m over the top excited. I’ll be doing a slow period correct resto, going back as original as I can. May do a some 275 mercs or keep the loopers, not sure yet. The rear seat will be moved back to its original location as well. Transom is a curiosity at this point and may need to be done, we’ll see.

Well I’ve always been looking for the right Raider, I passed a 34 up a while back that I posted about here. This particular one I saw about 12 years ago on NJ craigslist, I knew what it was but couldnt get to it fast enough. The guy I bought it from saw it at the same time. I’ve been trying to track one down since then, in hopes it would be this one. The only other one I know of is in Rack storage in Miami. I have a pic or two of that one but it doesnt appear to be as unmolested. Word on the street is there were 5 built.

Am I correct in that is pretty much a scarab 38 kv hull and deck? That instrument panel looks very familiar. I wonder if they lightened it up because of the outboards? Or if the outboards lighten it up. Either way, cool old boat.

I talked to Wayne yesterday and iirc he said it looked like an extended KV cockpit with a KV dash. Weight is 7k and change, they never advertised max HP, only says “twins or tripples” lol. So for the day maybe that meant 900hp??In one of the previous threads here that discuss Raiders there is an attached Wellcraft spec page. Looking at the inner transom support I have a hard time believing that one would want to hang 3 300 loopers off the back of it? Maybe 3 275 Black Maxs?

Yes agreed, the teak is always nice to see in a performance boat. It’ll be a slow process; hope to use it a little this summer and get the mechanicals/rigging all sorted.

It is a 38KV with outboards. very rare find. Love the paint job. Nice find. The picture of the boat in the rack looks to be a 34 Raider same boat just dammed the mold to make it a 34. Congrats Dan
