On my 208 that I had (from new) for almost 30 years, I was somewhere between the first and second response. I had spare:
I saved the day a few times for stranded boaters by having THAT part or tool they needed...one time even found a guy with a brand new Cobalt that had lost its prop!
I don't have quite so much in my 252...yet, lol!
- prop and nut hardware
- fuel pump
- all hoses
- all belts
- filters
- fiberglass patch kit
- vinyl repair kit
- more hand tools than necessary
- oils and other fluids
- jumper cables
- battery booster
- two tool boxes full of wiring supplies, stainless fasteners of all types, etc
- lots more

Agreed! If you can not go for a simple boat ride without a full master set of Snap On Tools and a Bam Marine parts room in the bilge,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, You need to seriously look into a different boat. Don't get me wrong, I keep extra oil, gear lube, etc on board as well as a simple basic tool kit to handle those little things that come up and need some attention. But do you really need a pit crew and a chase boat. People have made trans Atlantic crossings with less crap than some here take for an afternoon cruise.
