Lightbulb XD short travel lifter update

I`ve stated that I had no issues running these lifters . I was wrong.
The forks on most have spread making them very hard to take out the bore.
Tie bar also broke.
I`m running 240/586 spring pressures which certainly doesnt help but after 2 seasons they are all about to take a dump.
The rollers are gone and the cam is shot

Yikes! Probably didn’t have much time left on them. Like that in both motors? How did those broken pieces not cause a catastrophic failure?

That sucks man. Had a set of Morels do the exact same thing. What are you going to replace those with? ISKY/JOHNSON? Solid/Hyd?

Isky which uses the johnson body .Im thinking short travel still.
Solid rollers would just be too much trouble t adjust every year

What changed from last time you had it apart for the broken valve? I mean, stuff looked ok at that point and had last season and a little time this season I would assume? you got the BEST luck!!

Those spring pressures are comparable to my Comp 943's I use to run on my solid cams and HR cams using Isky Red Zone solid lifters. After trying different springs I have narrowed it down to Comp 933's on my HR cams with solid lifter and higher lift HR cams with HR lifters. They seem to be stable, no valve float and not excessive pressure. 176/494 spring pressures.
Comp 929 springs for stock builds.

so yes, I had the bad gas episode rebuild all the heads and one motor.
That was 3 months ago or so .
After that I posted a data log of my run and how nice everything was running on Fakebook and some very well known engine builders told me I`m washing down my rings and I need more timing . at 3700-4000 (3lbs boost) I had 27* and low 12s
I spent some time trying to read plugs to see if this was true. I can`t read a plug to save my life but it looked like the timing mark on the strap was indeed low on timing.

I changed my map to 31.5* at 4000 and 12.5AFRs .
4 hours later I had a hole in the one piston, broken lifter and the engine that was fresh has a scored cylinder .... both motor on the #5 hole.
Efi is too easy to make changes I should have left it alone AND I should have stuck to MY tune . it`s worked for years.
I`m a dumbass. Now I`m paying the price ..

I`m redoing the transom anyway and getting 6`es so I guess the engines were coming out anyway ?? I`m trying to find a positive here lol
