Hi all,
Looking for advice/suggestions. The K planes on my scarab do not have provisions for indicator cables. There is no way of knowing their position other than by feel and ride attitude. My question is, am I better off going with a used set of tabs that have the indicator provision and use a 33c cable set up? Or, do I go with an electric sender conversion with new dash indicator? Does anyone have experience with the electronic conversion style? Brands to shy away from? Lean towards? Also, Drive trim indicator, cable style or electronic (using merc trim sender on gimbal ring)? I'm leaning towards mechanical set ups, because I'm a believer in "keep it simple, stupid". But, I'm not sure how easy it would be to locate a decent set of used tabs that have the cable boss in the transom base plate. Mine currently do not have it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Chris

There is a plug near the upper pivot pin, this replaces the plug abd you drill a hole for the cable
Part number 23... though it will be 5 bucks at menards vs.....

I have an early base plate that does not have the 1/2 NPT holes in it.

I believe these are the digital part numbers if you go that route.

Default F/S 2 K Plane electronic sensors w/harness Mercury K Plane electronic sensors (part number 863187A04), 1 harness (part number 84-895820A05), 2 L brackets that go from the sensor to tabs with bolts, and 2 stainless fittings that screw into K Plane transome plates that the wires go through (Wire grips) are needed.
I had sold this so a few years back.
