Default Pontoon Ejection @ the Shootout

Just came across this.
If there was another malfunction then I’ll stand corrected.
Who doesn’t wear their lanyard while in a speed contest?
Now his boat is tore to hell also.

As far as I'm aware they never did say if it was a malfunction of the kill switch or a malfunction of the toon operator. It would also be interesting to know what caused the hard left resulting in an exit stage right.

Toons run pretty nose high at speed trimmed out. If he lost power and it nosedived it could bow steer hard one direction or the other. That would explain how he got tossed. Haven't seen any video of the run, just the couple of pics on Lake Expo showing the front of the toons pretty deep in the water as he is exiting stage right.

Yes, it has twins. Sudden loss of power on one side and may have even stalled that engine. I had a blower belt come apart on my Pantera and it basically flooded the engine with fuel and stalled it quickly. I heard the same report about the lanyard strap breaking. My guess is his lanyard caught on something as he was ejected.

How do you explain to your friends that you got thrown out of your pontoon boat?

Watched the video. How did they stop the boat? Did they flood the engine with that fire hose?(hydro lock) or did it hit the throttle controll and push it back?

They were trying to flood the engines, and the stream of water inadvertently hit the throttle and pushed it back to idle which allowed them to board the boat.
