#MakeCancun&MexicoSafeAgain ...

...then maybe.

Only advantage is you can bring your own trusted alcohol in via your boat.

lol. Yeah yeah yeah. It’s safe. It’s nice….until it’s not. Run by the drug cartels. I’m good.

acapulco once a world vacation destination in the 80’s and 90’s. Recently made the list as one of the world’s deadliest beaches (number one at one point, in the whole world!) Not because of sharks!

Have lots of friends that love Mexico. The romance people remember growing up and way it used to be is far from the reality of that country. Anywhere you have to go and be concerned you have to pay a bribe to drive somewhere to the police? I’m out.waaaaaaay too many stories of bad sh*t happening down there.

enjoy your travels down there. Come back with your head. 😁👍

When was the last time you were actually there? How many states in Mexico have you actually visited? I don't care what your news source is, but to simply indict an entire nation based on that source or the opinions of friends is silly.

Just as there are incredibly violent and dangerous cities in the United States based on drug traffic, there are incredibly violent portions of certain states in Mexico. based on drug traffic. To indict an entire country for that is overly simplistic and, frankly, beneath your intelligence.

I paid a bribe to police just south of Ensenada when I was 17. Graft and bribery are nothing new in Mexico. Nor are they exclusive to Mexico.

The same year, I also had a cop in Malibu threaten to beat me up because he "didn't like my attitude." I'm not sure what the legal prescription/remedy/penalty for an attitude deemed to be "bad" is but I'm reasonably sure it's not assault by a peace officer.

It is also worth noting that drug cartel havens changed with the times. Once among the most dangerous cities in the world, Cartagena, Colombia (my son was there a few years ago, as many of my friends have been) is now among the most popular tourist destinations in South America.

Relaxing on a beach south of PVR. Like most places it's where you go and what you do.
