I’m getting ready to instal my box but have a few questions. Initially I am just going to use the box without controlling the timing, much like a msd box. I have a msd ready to run distributor with an aftermarket 14 degree bushing to keep the advance higher at idle. I plan on running the pre programmed #7 with idle stabilization. Is it necessary to hook the box up to a computer prior to using it both as just a “msd box” and or ignition controller. I bought a cheap windows laptop but I am pretty computer illiterate and don’t really get beyond my iPad 😂. Thanks in advance !

note: though I couldn’t use the cd1 coils either. We just put on a MSD blaster coil for dyno. Ran that way this summer for 30-40 hours but look forward to the cd1 distributors and getting dialed in. Docking was a bit of a beiotch. Sound killer but slightly embarrassing! 😂

Thanks ! Yeah I am not using the green / violet wires , I am running the orange wire off my distributor to the white wire on the box. Red wire off distributor to red on box and tie that into the ignition wire. I do have the coil as well but will hang on to the other just in case !

You don’t have to be a computer science major to use the computer software. If you follow the directions it’s REALLY simple and the idle stabilization, rev limiter and timing curve are what you’re paying for!!!
what you’re doing is the equivalent of buying a new Lamborghini and just sitting in the drivers seat and making vroom vroom noises……
