I’ve used kerosene with success… and shake the bottle around.

You want something that will suspend the contamination so it can pour or eipe out etc. Even warm water with a detergent would work...

Depends on where you are...water also causes cancer...in CA.

Just curious what you used. I tried acetone last night, no good. It liquified the small amount of blackish brown gunk on the bottom of one of my reservoirs into some nasty funk that’s now stuck to the entire inside of the reservoir.

Mine wasn't bad and I used some kerosene as suggested.

Sounds good, I’ll try that next. Thanks.

I use mineral spirts, a rag and screw driver the wipe it clean every change. Of course the bottle is off when I do this.

That’s the trick, gotta get in there with a rag and a tool to wipe it all out. I was hoping to just dilute it down with a solvent then shake it up and dump it out. No big deal.

Acetone and plastic don't play well together in general. One of our mechanics left a screwdriver in a pan of acetone. Next day the handle had completely dissolved. I have mineral spirits in my parts cleaner. Works well on almost everything.
