Default QUESTION, hot water relief valve?

I was told by a local marine speed shop that I may benifit from installing a water relief hose from the back intake manifold ports directly out the transom. Does this sound right? They said it would eliminate any hots spots from building up and overheating the back of the engine. They said run a 8-an hose from both sides of the ports to a Y then out the back of the transom, no valve just open lines straight out? Any thoughts? thanks

Interesting concept.

A more popular variation is to run hoses from the back to the front to eliminate gases from steam pockets in the rear of the heads.
