Way to go Allweiss. That REALLY helps! Not to mention this pecker head gets a ride in one of the worlds TRICKEST boats, not to mention DRIVE and he has to write the article with these negative conotations. WTF?

your basically right GLH,if he was interseted in driving one,you cant count on he wants one,now he takes parts of conversations from people and creates his own publicity,that boat is well equipped and desighned to handle alot higher speeds than that,even with minimal experience,nobody but chris really knows what happened that day and for anybody to guess is immature and bullcrap!heck,I beleive anybody with cash can jump in a ferrarri and crash and burn also!

shouldnt you really take a step back and realize what he says is true. You only need cash...and not a lot, to get in a boat, pull away and try to get yourself over 100...
Forget the writer, who was interviewed, the facts are the same, and true.

Do you or your friends practice safety at those speeds? some do , surely...others no.

I guess my point is...the boats are designed built and engineered to do the speed...BUT , Is the driver capable of getting the boat to those speeds.
Is the timing of the article poor...maybe. We certainly dont have all the facts as to what happened in that unfortuanate accident either. I dont think anyone said driver error was to blame, nor was it implied.
It can be said that the many folks with these boats dont practice or have the installed equipment to be 100%safe.

Just an observation

What NEEDS to be brought out is the fact that proper safety equipment needs to be used at any excessive speeds. Not the fact that fast boats are dangerous. Do you see anyone writing articles about Porsche's, Ferrari's, Corvette's etc... being dangerous becuase the are fast ???? Dave

how many people have the experience to deal with a problem or obstacle as it comes up?

This was a tragic event and my heart goes out to all concerned. We all hope this never happens but unfortunately it can happen to any of us. But here's a question that may have no answer. Why is this worse than a loss of life on a motor cycle, high speed car crash, snow mobile, etc...? Those types of events occur every day yet typically receive little media attention or this type of scrutiny.
Is it because this a pleasure/leisure activity and nothing should go wrong?
