Default $$$Boat/$$Gas/$Insurance=?

Lots of threads showing that the performance boat market has/is pricing itself out of existance to all but the the kings of society. The average Joe with a good job and family is now either in a used boat or a cruiser or nothing at all....With all the new techniques of manufacturing and outsourcing a good 38" boat with say twin HP 500's ought be going for around $175k...all the top speeds and marketing and other stunts won't chcange things ....the industry is slowly going out of existance...and all the will be remembered is that there was potential for change but nobody took the lead.....I geuss it's a "no WAKE -up call for the leading manufacturers....America needs you to respond..if you sell a boat to a dealer at half of asking price then you are making that and more...so a 300k boat goes to a dealer for 150K meaning it cost you 75K to make...some companies...am I missing the mark or what? AUto companies make a few thousand on a vehicle...you guys double and triple your bottom line...even the rich won't take the kind of losses anymore....

Last time I checked there were some awesome deals in the used boat market Fountain's, Formula's, Baja's, Cigarette's & all the rest.

If the new prices were so out of reach than the used market would go up, and they would not sell any new boats. God knows I cannot see the day were I can afford a new boat. Check the pics of the Cigarette factory in a tread here or read about Outerlimits output sold till 2005, they are producing and selling them as soon as they are out the door.

This industry is susceptible to the free market, offer and demand are still what drives the market. Manufacturers don't decide buyers decide by choosing were they go. The only people steering the industry is the Buyers, manufacturers that don't cater to the demand soon disappear like in any business.

Can't make an omelet without breaking eggs.
