Cost to have a #6 drive repainted
I'm trying to get an idea of what "market" is to have 2- #6 legs and gimbals, with very mild corrosion, repainted in black Imron. Mine have been done and I'm trying to justify the bill received from the paint shop.
Once I receive some input, I'll tell you what I was billed.
Thanks!

paint labor rate here in new orleans is 38.00 hr. if parts needed to be blasted ,epoxyed, primed, sanded, painted etc and you wanted 1st class i would charge per hr that i worked on them so , without seeing them i'd say around 1200.00 .

i have been doing high end graphics and custom finishes for some time now and for a top shelf job $1000.00-1200.00 (i agree open72
) for the pair would be about right. we are talking blasted, filled and finished as new. you'll probably have close to $200 just in meterials.

1951.08??? now the price i said is not set in stone and could run you that much. it's possible that glassdave or myself would have came in higher but without seeing how bad the corrosion was ,that was ballpark. those drives are heavy and somewhat bulky. without the proper stands they can be a real pita. post a pic if possible.

i'd say about 50 bucks, 1 gal of latex exterior black paint $40
1 roller $5
1 small brush $2.50
A few sheets of sand paper $2.50
people that get away with charging 2 grand to put some black paint on a drive.....PRICELESS
