Default TRS Speedmaster???

Is it true that you can take a TRS drive upper and run a #2 or #3 lower unit, and does it work? If you can do this does it increase the strenght of the drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can take a #2 and bolt it to a TRS Gimball. I know that. However it seems like a lot of money for a drive that you can no longer get parts for. Also the #2 sits lower in the water so to do it correctly you would need to raise up the X and the motors and a lot more. If I was having drive issues I would go with the Conrads. Especially after seeing Biggus's in action.
