How Long at W.F.O. ??

How long have you held your boat engine at WFO not letting out of it?Balls to the wall in flat water
How many minutes??
On my 500efi's I have for about 10 minutes and the water and oil temps where all good
.
Just think about the offshore races that are flat and they never let out of it

Usually for about a hour, back when we raced!! 500hp carb.
It took a while for the oil temp. to get up there, never a problem!! after the race when the oil was hot the oil pressure would be down about 10lbs at idle.

Have held the "Pull My Trigger" smallblocks wide open down a BIG lake up here for 25-30min once, just pinned it and left it there. oil temp was up to about 240 and about 10-15 lbs oil press at idle...milled around for a few minutes after and got the oil temp down to around 180 before I shut it down......told a bunch of car guy friends of mine that I did this and they couldnt beleve it..........done it lots of times for 10 or 15.........

Continuous? Roughly 3 hours.
Overall...... Carb motor with no computer, since we have owned it I would say majority of the hours (90%) are wfo, 5200 (need a bigger prop, 4600 is where she needs to be)
