Is that for your car insurance or boat insurance?

The question is being asked now as a result of many large losses to boats and trailers from tow vehicles being overloaded. Check your policy, it probably states that if the tow vehicle is not rated for the weight being towed coverage will be denied.

tow coverage gets real iffy with big boats....

The insurance folks are not stupid. They read this site and others.

I've brought up this point in several other threads. I was told flat out by my insurance agent to be SURE that my tow vehicle was rated to tow my boat otherwise if I was in an accident I would be SOL. And this was in June of 01' .

Makes sense to me from an ins. co.'s perspective.
