After looking at the picture above, some have asked, if the trailer is empty, where is the boat?
Most of the time, she is on the lift, seen below.
It is about 150 feet from the back of the house to the edge of the river, and another 350 feet of dock, out to the boat.

Here are some pictures I took just recently.
My brand new 2007 Toyota Tundra Double Cab and my 2007 30 Skater, at the boat ramp. This ramp is county owned, more than large enough for my boat, and is FRESH WATER, it is behind the lock, but quite an idle out. After a bit of idling, you go through some very small ponds, though several narrow passes, and then through a rather long and winding pass through the mangrove trees. Finally, you arrive at a 'self operated' lock, which puts you in to the Myakka River about 1 mile from the top of Charlotte Harbor.

How's the Toyota tow your Skater? Trailer and boat weigh how much?

The trailer is 3,200lbs (its beefy), plus fuel at 7.5 lbs per gallon.
4,100 + 3,200 = 7,300 lbs no fuel.
4,100 + 3,200 + 1350 (full 180gal) = 8,650lbs.
The truck does a great job towing, and stopping.
An electric brake controller is a must, for anything other than local towing.
I have a bunch of options; 5.7-liter DOHC EFI V8, 32-valve engine with Dual
VVT-i, 381 hp - @5600 rpm, 401 lb.-ft. - @3600 rpm, 6-speed automatic
overdrive, heavy duty tow option, transmission cooler, transmission temp gauge,
4.30 Rear Diff w/10.5" Ring Gear,limited slip diff, 150A Alternator,and a
10,600lbs tow capacity rating.
I am 6ft tall, and really like the truck.

Thanks, drove one last week, nice truck. You have electric brakes on your Skater trailer?

The data collected on 9/26/07 was during the last dial-in run at TNT with 2 people on board and 40 gallons of fuel.
The data collected on Fri 10/12/07 was during a 10 minute run with 3 people on board and 57 gallons of fuel. The air temp was 88 degrees and the humidity was 73%. Harbor conditions, 1 ft light chop.
The data collected on Sat 10/12/07 at the end of the days run with 3 people on board and 50 gallons of fuel. The air temp was 91 degrees and the humidity was 77%. Harbor conditions, 2ft heavy chop, and white caps.
All test below were done with the throttles level, except the 3 runs denoted with “**”. Those 3 runs were done with throttles adjusted to balance the RPMs in the tachs.
See detail data below.

How did you get all that data- smartcraft? DDT? hand written?
The RPM of my 300XS's are 0-200RPM off as well.
Do you think motors have always been off but because of today's newer digital technology we can tell where in years past we couldn't?
Is it better to adjust to even with the throttles or trim one side in/out more?
Delta tach, % flow and Delta SysTac- what are those numbers? Is it a stand alone meter to double check your readings?

also a classically trained aerospace engineer, who spent most of my career as a systems
design engineer, before becoming a professional race boat driver. After retiring from
racing, I continued as a systems design engineer.
It is good to know I am not the only one whose RPMs are off, side to side.
Without digital technologies, it is difficult to see the RPM variance between motors;
however, engine sync gauges have been around a long time, so who really knows.
Don’t use trim to adjust RPM between motors. Having the motors at different trim
angles could be dangerous in certain situations. I use my throttles to balance the RPMs.
Delta Tach = different in RPMs between system view and Livorsi Monster Tach, for each motor
% flow = percentage increase/decrease in GPH, STBD GPH to PORT GPH
(1-(PORT-GPH/STBD-GPH))*100
Delta Sys Tach = difference in RPMs between PORT RPMs and STBD RPMs on system view
These 3 calculated fields help me to express and understand the data, in a systemic way.
One could say these 3 fields synthesize the data into useful comparisons.
