Thumbs up Re: My new 2007 30 SKater

I checked out your website & the build pics look great! Was the final black layer applied to the port sponson (shown in pic) kevlar?

Also, what material is used for Skater's stringers & bulkheads? The info wasn't disclosed on their website.

Thanks!
Dan

BTW, great lookin AMT, Tantrum! Let me know if & when you decide to sell.

The black is carbon fiber. Kevlar is also in the boat, in the sidewalls and to tie the deck and hull together, but it is a yellow layer

Thanks for the quick replies OGG & ASC!!

My question about the stringer & bulkhead material is regarding the wood or composite material used, not the fiberglass used to encapsulate it. Sorry, I should have been more clear. Anyone know?

Thanks again,
Dan

On our race boat the bulkheads were a type of honeycomb foam. But I believe GG is right and most pleasure boats are all cored with BALSA.

The bulkheads on my 30 are not balsa core, the deck is. My bulkheads are made from foam called 'I-beam', very strong and light.

Opps!. I used the term honeycomb in reference to the I-beam foam used in my 30. Sorry about that. I have corrected my post.
